Old Fashion Homemade Eggnog
Ingredients
- 1 ⅓ Cup Sugar
- 8 Eggs Separated
- 1 tsp Salt
- 16 Cup Milk 1 gallon
- 1 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 12 tbsp Sugar
- 4 tsp Vanilla
- Whipped Cream For topping
Instructions
- 1Beat 1⅓ cup sugar into egg yolks, place in sauce pan
- 2Add salt and stir in milk
- 3Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until milk is scalded
- 4Cool
- 5Beat egg whites until foamy
- 6Combine 12 TBS sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, add to egg whites gradually, beating to soft peaks
- 7Fold into milk mixture & mix thoroughly
- 8Add vanilla
- 9Chill for 3-5 days to develop flavor
- 10Pour into punch bowl
- 11Set top of each cup with whipped cream
