Old Fashion Homemade Eggnog

Ingredients

  • 1 ⅓ Cup Sugar
  • 8 Eggs Separated
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 16 Cup Milk 1 gallon
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 12 tbsp Sugar
  • 4 tsp Vanilla
  • Whipped Cream For topping

Instructions

  1. 1Beat 1⅓ cup sugar into egg yolks, place in sauce pan
  2. 2Add salt and stir in milk
  3. 3Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until milk is scalded
  4. 4Cool
  5. 5Beat egg whites until foamy
  6. 6Combine 12 TBS sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, add to egg whites gradually, beating to soft peaks
  7. 7Fold into milk mixture & mix thoroughly
  8. 8Add vanilla
  9. 9Chill for 3-5 days to develop flavor
  10. 10Pour into punch bowl
  11. 11Set top of each cup with whipped cream
