Prime Rib with Garlic Herb Butter
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Butter Softened, for garlic herb butter
- 2 Garlic Cloves, minced, for garlic herb butter
- 2 tbsp Rosemary Finely chopped, for garlic herb butter
- 2 tbsp Thyme Finely chopped, for garlic herb butter
- 2 tbsp Salt For garlic herb butter
- 1 tbsp Black Pepper For garlic herb butter
- 5 lb Boneless Prime Rib Roast 5-7 lbs
- 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Cup Beef Stock
- Mashed Potatoes To serve
- Green Beans To serve
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 500°F
- 2Mix the butter, garlic, herbs, salt, & pepper
- 3Rub the herb butter all over the roast & then place on a roasting tray with a rack
- 4Bake 5 minutes per pound
- 5Turn off heat and let the meat sit for 2 hours. DO NOT open oven door
- 6Once the 2 hours are up, remove the roast from the oven & pour the pan drippings into a saucepan over medium heat
- 7Add the flour, whisking until there are no lumps, then add the beef stock, stirring and bringing the sauce to a boil. Remove from heat and strain into gravy bowl
