Stuffed Steak Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Oil Olive, Canola, etc.
  • 3 tbsp Garlic Chopped
  • 2 Sweet Onions Chopped
  • 2 Cup Mushrooms Thinly sliced
  • ½ tbsp Salt
  • ½ tbsp Black Pepper
  • 2 lb Flank Steak
  • Additional Salt To taste
  • Additional Black Pepper To taste
  • 1 Baby Spinach 7 oz package
  • 4 Provolone Cheese Slices

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. 2Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium high heat.
  3. 3Combine garlic, onion, mushrooms, salt, and pepper in the pan.
  4. 4Cook until almost all the moisture has evaporated and the onions are caramelizing, 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. 5Remove from heat and set aside.
  6. 6Lay the flank steak on a cutting board.
  7. 7Spoon the mushroom onion mixture on top, spreading it evenly across the steak.
  8. 8Sprinkle the spinach on top, followed by slices of provolone.
  9. 9Press down lightly to compress the spinach.
  10. 10Starting at the bottom of the flank steak, roll it up tightly, making sure the grain of the meat underneath.
  11. 11Use toothpicks to secure the steak roll.
  12. 12Slice the steak roll into 6 equal slices.
  13. 13Heat the remaining oil in a pan over high heat.
  14. 14Sear the steak rolls on one side for 1-2 minutes, then flip.
  15. 15Sear the second side for about one minute, then bake for 10-15 minutes.
  16. 16Remove toothpicks, then serve.
